Hi, my name is Joseph, and I’m the managing partner here at Tsang & Associates. In this video, I want to walk you through everything you can expect when you do a consultation with us. We do things a little bit differently, and we’ve done a lot of these. This is the perfect consultation that we can come up with.

For most consultations, it’s broken up into two parts. In the first part, we focus on exactly what the client’s core questions are. Sometimes it’s strategy-based, like “What is the best way for me to stay in the United States legally?” or “What are all the Visa options?” or “What is the best option for me?” That’s where we strategize and really figure out what all the options are to get you to your goal.

Sometimes it’s very case-specific, such as “I have this case, I got a denial, how can I overturn it?” or “How can I do a motion to reopen?” or “What is a checklist for me to succeed?” Whatever your question is, we spend the first half tackling that problem. And don’t worry if you don’t know what questions to ask. We can ask the questions for you. We’ve handled many of these case types, so when we see your case, we can assume what you might be concerned about: “Is that right? Is this what other clients have asked?”

Again, these consultations are for you. We’re here to help you understand your situation as best as possible.

Now, for part two of the consultation, we focus on the timeline and the process: What do you need to do? When do you need to do it? What does the next six months look like? What do the next five years look like? Immigration cases can take a long time, and there are a lot of factors that you need to take into consideration in order to plan. We’ll walk you through the entire process and timeline.

By the end of your consultation, you should have a firm grasp of your exact case, what you need to do, and our recommendations. You should have a clear idea of what you need to do and the timeline. And don’t worry if you’re going to forget, because everything should be recorded. We give you permission to record these sessions. We know it’s complicated stuff. There’s Plan A, Plan B, Plan C; there are all sorts of fees, so many government agencies, and all sorts of things that you need to do. Don’t worry about jotting everything down. The most important thing is for you to understand, to receive, to absorb — and that is our goal: to help you.

After all of this, if we’re able to take on the case, if we have the capability, we’ll prepare a blueprint, a retainer, of what our fees are, what the government fees are, and what the payment plan is for you to reference, shop around, or compare. But that’s not the goal of these strategy consultation sessions. We’re not here to do another sales call. We’re here to teach you, to empower you. And if you want to hire us, great. If you’re able to take our advice and directly succeed on your own, we’re all the happier for you.

We believe in the power of these strategy sessions so much that we organize our entire company around them. We prioritize the speed of these consultations so you can book appointments extremely fast because we know these are time-sensitive. You need an immediate answer, but nobody’s responding to your call. We understand the legal landscape, and we know this is critically important. That’s why we want to make ourselves and our team available to answer any pertinent questions. Whether you’re working in the HR department, helping a family member, or worried about yourself, we try to provide a lot of language resources, videos, and tutorials on how to solve every single one of these issues.

I know these videos are not enough because every situation is unique, and your circumstances might not be the same as somebody else’s. That’s why the team members here at Tsang & Associates dedicate a portion of their time to helping different people during these consultation calls.

In short, you don’t need to do anything to prepare for the interview. Some people like to prepare a lot of questions and share them beforehand. If that helps you, great. If you don’t want to do that because it’ll burden you, don’t worry about it.
